Hi! I’m MaryAnne- I live in Grosse Pointe, right outside Detroit, Michigan. The 4th daughter out of 5 girls. I was the one using the paint by numbers kits and painting rocks “up north” during summer vacations. I entered BGSU to find out more about my desire to be in the creative process and received a degree in Visual Communications. That degree had more to do with the production of art than painting or drawing; however, my constant sketching, and attempting the creative outlet of art was always in my heart.

It was after my daughter was married that I found myself curious about a class at a nearby Community center and began (again!) drawing with pastels, and painting with watercolors. The following fall, I heard about a Professor in Fine Arts teaching acrylic and oil painting, and I began to take classes once a week.  I’m learning all about painting with oils and acrylics, and so much more!   I have enjoyed making art, learning about color, mixing, brush strokes, composition, shapes, and styles!  Going on 5 years now!
